Dr Scott C Borgna - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Dr Scott Borgna is an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon who practices the full scope of the specialty with a special interest in Head & Neck Oncology, Head and Neck Cutaneous Malignancy, and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery.

After completing undergraduate degrees of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy at the University of Queensland, Dr Borgna was accepted onto the Queensland Oral and Maxillofacial training program. This afforded him the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge in the management of: Dental Implant and Dentoalveolar (Wisdom Tooth) Surgery, Maxillofacial Trauma Surgery, Orthognathic (Jaw) & Facial deformity Surgery, Salivary Gland Surgery and Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Pathology.

In 2013, Dr Borgna undertook a clinical fellowship in Head & Neck Cancer and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery, at the Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

In 2015, Dr Borgna was awarded the speciality fellowship in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, in both the United Kingdom – FRCS (OMFS) and Australia – FRACDS (OMS).

Dr Borgna is the current Chair of the Board of Studies in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (RACDS), which is responsible for the training of OMS specialists in Australia and New Zealand.

Dr Borgna is a staff specialist at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital and consults privately in the QOMS rooms at the Wesley Medical Centre, Chermside and our Mackay branch practice.
