President's Message

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Kenmore. It is such a pleasure to be Club President this year! The Rotary Club of Kenmore has served the local community in the western suburbs of Brisbane for more than five decades. In collaboration with other Rotary Clubs in our area, we strive to have an impact on our local, region and international community. Rotary International and all member Clubs are non-political and non-religious, recognising the needs of all people and working together to achieve world-wide peace and prosperity.

The Rotary International theme this year is ‘Creating Hope in the World’. The Rotary Club of Kenmore embodies this in many ways.

The Club has a strong and enduring commitment supporting youth to become the leaders of tomorrow. The Club does this by supporting many youth-focused initiatives at the primary and secondary school levels. This includes support for local residents to participate in the various Rotary Youth programs such as intensive multi-day leadership development programs, a Interact Club at the Kenmore State High School and other Rotary-school partnered leadership programs.

In addition, The Club has developed a strong multi-year partnership in conjunction with other local Rotary Clubs and the Women’s Crisis Support Service to assist in making the lives better for families dealing with domestic violence.

With a recently redeveloped strategic plan, The Club has a clear focus on further engagement with our local community. If you are a member of the local community and are interested in giving back or leadership development, please contact us! Though there is power in the action of an individual, consider the greater impact you could have coupled with the power of The Rotary Club of Kenmore and Rotary International!

In the coming year I look forward to working with the community and members of The Club in creating hope in the world!
