Welcome: President Margaret welcomed all guests and Club members as well as DG Mark Williams and Suzanne, Ross, Giles and Leonie from the Rotary Club of Brookfield
Toast: The Chair proposed the Rotary Toast.
International Toast: Mary proposed a toast to the Rotary Club of Ragusa in Sicily. This is the home club of the current RI President.
Members’ Spots:
Ken Ryan thanked Geoff for co-ordinating a project with the Kenmore Men’s Shed to renovate and replace seating at KSHS.
David Kearney mentioned that he and Mary had visited the Community Tables project which feeds the homeless in Bowen Hills. This project is a recipient of a Rotary grant of $5000.
President Margaret welcomed all members, DG Mark Williams and members from the Rotary Club of Brookfield.
The Christmas Raffle will run from 7th November to 7th December. Margaret asked members to assist when registration opens.
Social Gathering with President Margaret on Sunday 28th September from 3:00-5:00pm.
Rotary Club of Toowong Trivia Night 20th September.

Membership Action Plan: provides a blueprint for clubs to position your Club to be attractive to your target market of prospective members

Project Training
Bounty on younger members: District is offering a 7 and a half percent reduction in fees to members aged under 45 years old.
Volunteer Management:
“Volunteer with Rotary” platform which allows potential volunteers to create their own profiles and Clubs / RAGS can publish voluntarily

Rotary Foundation:
PRIP Glen Kinross AO Endowment fund – Mark asked Clubs to consider donating to this fund.
Centurion Challenge: Rotarians who donate a $100 to Rotary Foundation in a year.
Polio Plus Challenge: District match dollar for dollar.
50 District Grant Applications: Mark is hoping there will be 50 grant applications made during his year as DG. Grants assist projects that provide impact in the community.
WRIT1999: A new Youth program
This is a free one-week course in effective thinking, reading and writing at UQ. Students can attend at the end of Year 11. While the course is free, participants pay for their own travel and accommodation costs. Rotary Clubs can contribute by identifying and sponsoring regional attendees.

This will be held May 1st – 3rd 2026 at Royal Pines Resort. The theme is Reaching across boundaries.
Vote of Thanks:
President Margaret offered a Vote of Thanks to DG Mark Williams for helping us realise what else we can do to fulfil the role of Rotary beyond the local community. Mark was presented with a Kenmore Rotary Object.
