Our interaction with and support for the community is what we are all about as well as our wider responsibilities as part of Rotary International. In recent weeks we have been out and about – helping to pack a container of educational materials to go to PNG at the RARE (Rotary Australia Recycling Equipment) shed, staging a very successful concert to raise funds for the Rotary Western Queensland Flood appeal (thanks to David and Mary Kearney), then distributing much needed groceries to Anglicare, the Salvation Army and St Vincent de Paul from the mid-year grocery appeal facilitated by Kenmore Village Shopping Centre. Many thanks to Manager Lisa, Joe and the Village team for their assistance with this project. Of course thank you to Ricky for her tireless work in this area.
I hope you can attend our next meeting which will give you an opportunity to provide your thoughts and ideas about what we are doing, how we are doing it and what else we could be doing. This will help the Board to shape our program for the rest of the year.
Lastly please mark your diaries for our meeting on 16 September when we will be joined by District Governor Mark Williams. With more than 100 clubs in the District we are unlikely to have any other visits from Mark during his year as DG.
Yours in Rotary service
Margaret
