It is with pleasure and excitement that I write this first report as President for 2025-26. My connection with Kenmore Rotary goes back to 2000 when I was invited to be one of the first female members of our Club – I am the only one remaining as the others had business commitments which prevented them from continuing. Until I retired from political life I was an Honorary Member and have been an ordinary member since 2017. I have two Paul Harris Fellow awards – the first from Karana Downs Rotary many years ago then a second from Kenmore which I greatly treasure. Enough of my history!
I am looking forward to a productive Rotary year which includes more networking opportunities at meetings and the sharing of new ideas for projects. As well as focusing on our local community we need to work with other Cluster Clubs to expand our opportunities for meaningful projects. Some of you may well ask what is a ‘Cluster Club’? In the next few months we will spend some time catching up on the structure of our District 9620. Above all I want Rotary to be fun and a Club where everyone can be involved. To that end please contact me anytime if you have ideas, requests or just comments.
As always we have a great Board who will help me steer the ‘ship’ for the year ahead:
Secretary Ken Ryan
Treasurer Andrea Silva
Director Strategy & Jason Pole
Communication
Director Membership Ricky Haberfield
Director Meeting & Events Claylia Ward
Administration
Director Youth Engagement June Riley
Director Foundation & Mary Kearney
International Service
Immediate Past President Dave Patmore
(Special thank you to Ross Thomas for his exceptional work over many years in the Youth portfolio and likewise to Patrick Cook who has stepped down as Treasurer but will be the Assistant Treasurer)
I hope you can join us for our next meeting on 5 August.
President Margaret
