From the President
My Fellow Rotarians
Hope the slowly increasing day-time temperatures are encourag-ing you all to travel and enjoy the weather. If you didn’t attend the meeting on the 20th, you missed Ross’s travel stories. Fellowship was on our agenda, and we did two activities that were engaging.
I am hoping that the activity that focused on saying just two good things about another person (albeit was reluctantly completed by some) brought happiness to many of you. The research shows that saying nice things to others can have positive effects on both yourself and others. Expressing praise and gratitude is particular-ly important for keeping up mo-rale and to make people feel val-ued. Being nice to others can spread kindness and positivity, which can make the world a bet-ter place. Isn’t that what we want as Rotarians? The world to be a better place?
The next activity was a brain-storming session and I am hoping that the outcomes of that activity will help the future presidents in their planning.
This is my final column as the president. See you on the 1st July.
Leaving you all with one thought from Bhagwat Geeta “We are kept from our goals not by obsta-cles, but by a clear path to lesser goals”. So “IMAGINE ROTARY”.
