CLUB MEETING HELD 20th MAY

President’s comments: Dave thanked Hayley on behalf of the club for the great job she’s doing with club catering
- Dave inducted our newest member Shadow, who gratefully accepted a treat and a member badge
- Dave commented that at the District Conference he noted that Wynnum and Manly members hold regular coffee mornings where they all wear their purple DV shirts – we could possibly do this perhaps one Friday a month in various coffee shops, to raise awareness of the club and work we do against domestic violence
Guest – Christine Young from Moggill CWA spoke about the proposed “sconversation” and yarnbombing display near the Guide Hut in Booker Place at Bellbowrie from 7th to 14th August. They are inviting participation (perhaps decorating one tree or bollard) from a range of community groups. This is based on the Jumpers and Jazz festival in Warwick.

June advised that the final day for the KSHS Leadership Programme was Wednesday 21st May.
Mary noted that Opera in the Gardens was coming up on 1st June.
Martin advised that Rotary’s involvement in the Challenge DV bbq on 30th May has been cancelled (huge sigh of relief!). Mary thanked the club members who had volunteered to assist with this.
The club members’ slides were shown, with a mix of great photos, information about a range of places, and lots of laughs.
